Our Lady of All Nations Shrine



In the sitio Cogon, West Ulbujan, Garcia-Hernandez, Bohol, resides this shrine dedicated to the Mother Mary. An approximately 11 ft tall statue of Mother Mary stood along the hill, where it was believed she appears in the past years. It was established through the efforts of the religious organization in Garcia-Hernandez, Couples for Christ. This is a perfect destination to pray and relax with its nature vibes.
If you are from Tagbilaran City, you can ride a transportation of your choice for about an hour going to the town of Garcia-Hernandez. You will stop at Brgy. West Ulbujan and then, you can ride a motorcycle or "Habal-habal", going to the location in Sitio Cogon. If you're from the pier of Jagna, you can only have about 15 mins jeepney ride to the said barangay. If you are an adventurous person, you can hike from the national road for 1 and a half hours to the location, however you need some guide. At the end of your journey, it will all worth it as you feel the solemn and peaceful place of Our Lady of All Nations Shrine. As you go up to the hill, to the Mother Mary statue, you will see the panoramic view of the Garcia-Hernandez sea. You can also enjoy the cottages, perfect for picnic, just make sure you'll clean before you leave. There are no convenient stores available on the location itself, so better bring your own food and water.

San Miguel Archangel Parish

  If you are looking for a solemn place for praying and meditation, as well as looking back to the history of Bohol, churches here are very much evident to that. One of them is the San Miguel Archangel Parish also known as Jagna Church. The parish of Jagna and its convento was established in 1631 with the help of the Jesuit priest, José Sanchez (Josef Zanzini [1616-92]). He embellished the churches with gilded retablos and for Jagna built a three-story structure in honor of St. Michael. Adjacent to the church was the convento which was built of rubble with a metal roof. Both church and convento must have been built by the Recollects who assumed administration of Bohol with the departure of the Jesuits in 1768.
